About the Role:
As the Quality Manager you will be responsible for contributing to all aspects of quality management and legislative and regulatory compliance within St Basil?s, ensuring evidence based practice underpins the quality and safety of care and service provision.
This role champions a culture of quality and excellence in care and service provision across St Basils.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance:
- Manages clinical and organisational governance processes to support enterprise wide legislative and regulatory compliance
- Ensure effective clinical governance and regulatory frameworks are embedded in evidence
- Maintains organisation risk registers and reporting frameworks to proactively mitigate risks across the business
- Provides advice on organisational risk, compliance management, and the audit framework
- Responds to information exchanges with regulatory bodies in relation to high-risk care and services issues
Risk
- Leads the quality officers to deliver risk and quality management solutions
- Ensures a uniform and coordinated approach to risk assessments across all business units
- Timely production of detailed risk and quality reports and recommendations
Compliance
- In response to any internal and/or external audits findings, formulate corrective action plans and the implementation and evaluation of these corrective action plans
- Ensure that continuous improvement plans from investigations, assessments and audits are ?SMART?, and that outstanding actions are escalated as needed to the Chief of Governance Quality and Excellence
- Manage, and review enterprise wide processes for quality improvement, risk management and workplace safety for older people and aged care workers
Clinical governance
- Report on all clinical quality compliance activities to the Chief of Governance Quality and Excellence
- Manage quality and compliance strategies to drive a culture of excellence and high clinical care and service standards
- Using audit outcomes and by reviewing incident data, Identify clinical issues and trends in care and service provision and provide support for corrective actions.
Required Skills and Experience:
Experience:
- Demonstrated successful and extensive experience working in a quality, assurance, compliance or risk management role in an aged care or healthcare setting
- Demonstrated expertise in managing quality, risk and compliance in a complex multi-site environment
Skills:
- Demonstrated understanding of Aged Care legislation and regulations, risk assessment and management strategies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with suppliers, staff, and stakeholders
- Understanding of and managing regulatory change
- Experience and competence in the use of data to evaluate care and service outcomes
- Experience in clinical governance and compliance
- Demonstrated leadership skills focused on mentoring and coaching others to lead quality management excellence across the organisation
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships
Required Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification(s) in Nursing, Allied Health, Quality Assurance, Risk Management or other relevant field
