About the role
We are currently seeking a compassionate, dedicated Accommodation Services Manager (SIL) to join our team in the Hunter, Maitland and Newcastle region. In this role you will be responsible for managing and leading the provision of NDIS Support Independent Living (SIL) services for We Care NSW across the region. With the aim of delivering quality care and achieving positive outcomes for people living with psychosocial and physical challenges.
You will be responsible for the operational aspects of the service including staff management, supervision and training, rostering, stakeholder management, quality and compliance, people and safety management. You will be working alongside senior management and specialists to ensure the delivery of person centred, therapeutic, trauma informed care to the participants we support.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage SIL service delivery, ensuring that all staff provide person centred / therapeutic / trauma informed support to assist participants to achieve their goals and build capacity
Daily line management, staff supervision and leadership for the SIL workforce
Ensure rosters for all programs are completed in a timely and compliant manner
Conduct and review risk assessments and therapeutic planning processes
Lead and facilitate stakeholder engagement and discussions
Contribute to the management of critical incidents
Participate in the recruitment and orientation of new team members
Monitor and evaluate the performance of SIL programs and ensure compliance with standards and legislation
Mentor and support House Coordinators to build their capacity in their roles.
Skills and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification at Diploma level or above in Community Services, Mental Health, Management or related field and/or other relevant experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing teams in disability / mental health services or similar environment working
Demonstrated applied knowledge of NDIS requirements to the delivery of services in a Supported Independent Living environment
Experience in developing and managing a staff roster, across multiple programs, within a therapeutic care framework
Knowledge of person centred principles, positive behaviour support and trauma informed care
Well developed knowledge in NDIS critical incident management responsibilities and related procedures
Highly developed verbal communication, interpersonal and influencing skills
Well-developed time management, organising and task coordination skills
