Experienced Disability Support Worker

F.I.R.S.T. is currently seeking Support Workers withBehaviour Management Experienceto empower every person to live with independence and dignity.

Based in Loganholme and Eagleby, F.I.R.S.T. is all about connection, growth, and fun in safe, supportive environments. We're committed to delivering high-quality support through a passionate and well-trained team.

This dynamic role involves helping our members engage in a wide range of activities, both within our purpose-built centers and out in the community. You’ll also support individuals in developing independent living skills and providing personal care where needed.

Skills and experience required:

Experience in supporting clients with high physical needs & or challenging behaviour.

Non-violent crisis intervention training preferred.

Ability to engage with clients, build rapport, motivate and build positive professional relationships.

Genuine interest in supporting people living with a disability.

Excellent communication skills.

Able to recognize the individual needs of service users.

Flexibility to adapt to a variety of situations.

Ability to work as part of a supportive, values-driven team.

To apply for the position, the applicant must have:

At least 1 year paid work experience as a Disability Support Worker.

Certificate III or IV in Disability (or similar).

Current QLD driver’s license.

Own vehicle with car insurance.

Smart phone for accessing roster and email.

Must hold or have ability to pass Blue Card and NDIS worker screening check.

Worker Orientation Modules ‘Quality, Safety & You’ ‘Effective Communication’ and ‘Mealtime Support’ certificates or willing to obtain.
