Disability Support Worker

About the role

Positive Care Supports' is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in Maitland, NSW. In this part-time role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with diverse abilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and live independently.

What you'll be doing

1.

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks 2.

Facilitating community participation and social inclusion by accompanying clients to appointments, activities, and social events 3.

Implementing individualised support plans and documenting client progress 4.

Advocating for client needs and ensuring their rights are protected 5.

Collaborating with the broader care team to deliver coordinated and holistic support 6.

Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for clients

What we're looking for

1.

Experience in disability support or a related field, with a strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with diverse abilities 2.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients 3.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges 4.

A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine commitment to empowering and supporting clients 5.

A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle 6.

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent
