The Nesting Tree is a registered NDIS provider offering a wide range of specialised services designed to nurture, empower, and support individual participants. From engaging community access programs that promote social participation to short-term accommodations, each service is tailored to meet the unique needs of those we support.
About the Role:
As we grow our services, we’re looking for dedicated and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you’ll provide meaningful support to individuals living with disability, both in their homes and in community day programs, fostering independence, enhancing well-being, and encouraging social participation.
Key Responsibilities:
Support participants in achieving their personal NDIS goals, particularly in developing independent living skills
Provide tailored, person-centred support, including assistance with self-care and daily routines
Facilitate participation in community, social, and recreational activities
Develop and maintain positive, respectful relationships with participants and their families
Complete accurate and timely documentation and reporting
Work collaboratively and flexibly within a team to provide support across weekdays and weekends, and Short term accommodation respite stays, as needed
About You:
You have a genuine passion for empowering and supporting people with disability
You bring experience in managing behaviours of concern and implementing Positive Behaviour Support strategies
You’re confident working with individuals with complex behavioural and/or medical needs
You have hands-on experience supporting clients both in their homes and out in the community
Your communication and interpersonal skills are strong, helping you build trust and rapport with easeYou’re capable of working independently while also being a collaborative team player
You’re reliable, proactive, and driven by compassion in everything you do
Requirements:
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Driver’s licence and own reliable transport
Disability support worker experience, Certificate III (or working towards) in Individual Support, Disability, or equivalent (desirable)
This position offers a variety of shifts, including day shifts, passive shifts and active night shifts
The ideal candidate will understand the role of the have knowledge of NDIS Code of Conduct, industry guidelines, and be committed to providing services in accordance with the Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
