Job Description
About the Role This role involves providingconsistent, person-centred 2:1 supportto a young participant with complex support needs. You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of daily living, implementing behavioural support strategies, and creating a structured, engaging, and safe environment.
Key responsibilities
1.
Providing personal care and continence support 2.
Assisting with meals, hygiene, and medication administration 3.
Supporting community access and participation in structured daily activities 4.
Monitoring and responding to behaviours of concern, in line with the Behaviour Support Plan 5.
Using and promoting the participant’s communication methods (e.g. keyword signing, visual tools) 6.
Completing accurate documentation, including incident reports, case notes, and behaviour tracking 7.
Working collaboratively with family, allied health professionals, and internal teams 8.
Upholding all duty of care, NDIS standards, and emergency protocols 9.
Maintaining a calm, patient, and strengths-based approach at all times

Be confident in supporting individuals with complex needs, including behaviours of concern 3.
Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and be comfortable using visual and alternative communication methods 4.
Work proactively, follow behaviour support strategies, and maintain professional boundaries 5.
Be physically capable of providing hands-on support, including manual handling and personal care 6.
Remain composed and responsive in crisis situations, always following emergency protocols 7.
Be open to ongoing feedback, reflective practice, and collaboration with a wider multidisciplinary team 8.
Value structure, clarity, and teamwork—understanding that stability and predictability are essential for the participant’s wellbeing
Availability & Hours
1.
Minimum16+ hours per week 2.
Priority shifts:AM and PM weekdays, plussome weekends 3.
Shifts are a minimum of 5 hours 4.
If you’re only available certain weekdays (e.g., Mon–Wed), we can coordinate around current team coverage 5.
Must be open to someovernight, weekend, public holiday, andshort-noticeshifts
Essential Criteria

This role supports a participant with complex behavioural and medical needs. To ensure safety, consistency, and quality of care, applicants must meet the following criteria:
1.
Certificate III or higher in Disability, Individual Support, or a related field 2.
Valid Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle 3.
CurrentNDIS Worker Screening Check,Working with Children Check, andNational Police Clearance 4.
CurrentFirst Aid and CPRcertifications 5.
Medication AdministrationandManual Handlingcertificates (or willingness to obtain before commencing) 6.
Minimum of 2 years’ experienceworking with NDIS participants with complex behaviours and high support needs 7.
Proven ability to follow behaviour support plans and implement positive behaviour strategies 8.
Experience completingABC behaviour chartingand detailedincident reporting 9.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including accurate documentation and adherence to NDIS compliance requirements
