Day Options and Weekend Respite - Disability Support Worker

As a Support Worker in our Day Options and respite team, you will be required to enhance the living, social and recreational skills of people with mental health and disabilities. With a focus on individual needs, you will help engage the client to participate in community events. You will also help participants to perform daily activities.

We are seeking motivated staff to join our Day Options and Respite programs.

Compliance criteria:

• Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or equivalent qualification

• NDIS Worker Screening Check or equivalent DHS Disability Clearance

• MAPA Training

• Mental Health First Aid

• DHS Working With Children Clearance

• National Police Clearance

• Medication Administration Certificate

• Manual Handling

• First Aid & CPR

• Through Their Eyes Certificate, Child Safe Environments

• NDIS Worker Orientation Module

• Australian Driver’s License

• Own your own car and have Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance

• An understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

• Experience in the mental health & Disability industry is desirable

• Experience with working with Autism is desirable

Hours of work for Day Options will generally be between 0800 - 1700 Monday to Friday.

Hours of work for Respite can vary between Monday - Sunday and include afterhours, active nights and sleepover shifts.

Successful applicants will be offered an interview, initially by phone and then a face to face interview.
