About Us
Formed in 1917, QEC is Victoria’s largest provider of residential and community based Early Parenting Services. We deliver a variety of different programs to more than 3,800 families annually - directly and in partnership with government and NFP partners across Metropolitan and Regional Victoria.
Many families face a variety of challenges that impact on their ability to nurture and support their young children. QEC programs are research-informed and tailored to meet the unique needs of each family and enable families to nurture, protect and enhance their children’s, safety, health and development.
The Role
We currently have two part time (0.6 FTE), fixed term, Case Worker vacancies reporting to the Community Manager/Program Coordinator based at QEC's Dandenong South office. The Case Worker role is recognised as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team, experienced in working in alignment with QEC’s Model of care, QEC’s Clinical Practice Framework and the Best Interests Case Practice Model. The Case Worker will work with children and families, delivering interventions which increase parenting capacity and family functioning, promote child safety and development. The Case Worker will work in partnership with families in their homes and community settings across various programs offered by QEC as directed by the Community Manager/Program Coordinator.
About You
To be considered for this role you will possess:
A tertiary qualification in nursing, community services, social work, psychology and/or behavioural sciences (or similar)
Demonstrated ability to undertake complex casework with families (including pregnant women) and children who have experienced trauma.
Proficiency in application of MARAM principles.
Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement and review appropriate interventions to support the development of parenting capacity and family functioning.
Demonstrated experience and theoretical understanding of the issues facing highly vulnerable parents in their ability to ensure the safety and wellbeing of their children.
A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and current issues faced by Aboriginal children and their families.
