Interactive Community Care (ICCare) was established in 2010 as a specialist in the Community Services Sector and has now proudly served the people of NSW for more than a decade. Supporting families across NSW in the Hunter, Central Coast, Sydney, Mid-North Coast and Western regions, Interactive Community Care is committed to meeting the complex care needs of children, adolescents, and adults.
We are a passionate, supportive and community-focused organisation dedicated to providing exceptional care and support for young people in Out-of-Home Care (OOHC). We strive to empower our young clients to build life skills, confidence, and resilience, while ensuring they receive the highest quality of care in a safe and nurturing environment.
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dynamic Youth Worker with experience in working with young people in OOHC to join our dedicated team. We are proud to be partnering with the Lumiere Foundation to offer this opportunity. You will be employed by Lumiere Foundation for work onsite with ICCare.

The Role - Youth Worker - (OOHC - Residential Services)
Provide direct support to young people in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
Assist in the development and implementation of individual care plans that are focused on the young person’s needs, abilities, and goals.
Support the young person in building independent living skills, including social skills, communication, daily routines, and life management skills.
Foster positive relationships and create a welcoming and supportive environment for young people in care.
Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team including caseworkers, psychologists, and other professionals to ensure holistic care and support.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, documentation, and reports in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Promote and encourage participation in recreational and community-based activities that support the development of social skills and independence.
Provide emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary.
Key Selection Criteria:
Diploma in Youth Work, Community Services or related field (or higher).
Previous experience working with young people in a residential, OOHC, or similar setting.
Strong understanding of the unique challenges and needs of young people in residential care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with young people.
Ability to model positive behaviour, offer guidance, and promote independence.
Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and willingness to undergo National Crime Check
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Unrestricted or minimum P2 license and comprehensively insured vehicle
COVID -19 Vaccination
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and frameworks governing OOHC services in NSW.
