**About the role **We are seeking compassionate and experienced family support workers to join our team and assist with in home support and community access on a casual basis to our client in Guilford, NSW. Client is a young female with Traumatic Brain Injury. If you're passionate about providing exceptional care, we want to hear from you!
- Implement Occupational Therapist (OT) plans, including gym-based workouts, independent living skill-building, social skills development, etc.
- Support emotional regulation by maintaining a calm, structured environment and working through strategies with the client during episodes of anxiety or panic attacks.
- Positively engage and motivate the client, using prompts and strengths-based approaches to overcome low motivation and encourage participation in daily activities.
- Follow the Positive Behaviour Support Plan (PBSP) at all times, while managing challenging and defiant behaviours with patience, resilience, and professionalism.
- Available for shift times from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM every Tuesday and Thursday, and fortnightly on Saturdays from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
****About you
- You have experience working with teenagers with additional needs, ideally with a background supporting individuals with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) or similar behavioural challenges.
- You are resilient, calm, and confident in managing challenging or defiant behaviours.
- You are skilled at building rapport and trust, using positive behaviour strategies and consistent boundaries to support emotional and behavioural regulation.
- You understand the importance of following Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) and working within a structured, person-centred framework.
- Female support worker preferred in line with client preference.
- Must hold a current driver’s license, reliable vehicle, valid NDIS Clearance and Working with Children Check.
- A minimum of Cert III/IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services or an equivalent qualification is preferred.
