About the role
As a part-time Speech Pathologist at The Healthy Brain and Memory Centre, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults and those living with dementia or other neurological conditions. You will be based in our Southport, Queensland clinic and be available to work on Wednesday's.
What you'll be doing
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' speech, language, voice
Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to help clients improve or maintain their communication and swallowing abilities
Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to clients' specific goals and needs
Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate client care and ensure a holistic approach
Document client progress, maintain accurate records, and provide regular updates to clients and their families
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices
What we're looking for
Degree or post-graduate qualification in Speech Pathology
Registration with the Speech Pathology Australia or eligibility for membership
Minimum 2 years of experience working as a Speech Pathologist, ideally with a focus on aged care or neurological conditions
Strong clinical skills in speech, language, voice, and swallowing assessment and intervention
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with clients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
Adaptability and a client-centred approach to tailor your services to individual needs
Passion for improving the quality of life for older adults and those living with dementia or other neurological conditions
Be available to work on Wednesday, with the aim of increases days
