The Department for Child Protection is seeking aSocial Workeror aSenior Social Workerto provide an essential social work service to our office in Hindmarsh on a full-time term basis.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Conduct investigations and assessments in a child-centred manner, focused on the safety of the child and on the support of the parent/family.
Support children in out-of-home care to reconnect with their birth families, strengthen relationships and achieve reunification.
Collaborate with various specialists to develop and implement clinical interventions for children and their families across diverse settings.
Participate in regular visits to homes within the central region to support parents in developing appropriate parenting skills.
Support families who are unable to effectively and safely care for their children and work towards a safe reunification.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following capabilities:
Knowledge and understanding of children and young people, particularly in regard to developmental stages, vulnerability and resilience.
Ability to manage workloads, timeframes, organise and plan work activities whilst prioritising tasks and responsibilities.
Expertise in delivering clear, concise written and verbal reports that are informative and based on an analysis of evidence gathered.
Ability to develop strong working relationships with a broad range of stakeholders.
Knowledge and commitment to promoting and creating a safe and inclusive work environment.

Special Conditions Essential Qualifications: A degree level qualification in Social Work which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Persons of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, who have the appropriate background and skills but do not have the essential qualification, may apply for and be engaged/assigned to the role of Social Worker and will be entitled to apply for any Allied Health Professional roles requiring a qualification in Social Work within the Department for Child Protection (DCP).
To be appointed directly to the AHP2 level, successful candidates must demonstrate increased professional expertise, competence and experience to perform any standard professional task within the discipline. Candidates will have also attained greater specialised knowledge within the discipline, which enables them to provide professional services to client groups in circumstances requiring increasingly complex practice skills.
