Safety and Compliance Manager

About the role

SIMON National Carriers' is seeking a passionate and dedicated Safety and Compliance Manager to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. This is a full-time role that plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and compliance of our nationwide logistics operations. As the Safety and Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring, implementing and maintaining our safety and compliance programs, procedures and initiatives across our national network.

What you'll be doing

Developing, implementing and continuously improving safety and compliance policies, procedures and training programs

Conducting regular safety audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards

Ensuring compliance with all relevant workplace health and safety legislation, industry regulations and internal policies

Investigating and reporting on incidents, accidents and near-misses, and implementing corrective actions

Providing guidance and support to managers and employees on safety and compliance matters

Maintaining comprehensive records and preparing detailed reports on safety and compliance performance

Liaising with regulatory bodies and industry associations to stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and best practices

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field

Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a safety and compliance role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry

Detailed knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, regulations and industry standards

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate risks

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with employees at all levels

Proficient in using safety management software and data analysis tools

Proactive, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement
