As a DFR Psychology Officer, you'll conduct structured psychological assessments to evaluate the suitability of candidates applying to join the Australian Defence Force. Your work will directly support national recruitment efforts, ensuring only the most capable individuals progress to serve.

What you'll be doing
The DFR Psychology Officer is part of the Operational business unit within Sonic HealthPlus. The role is responsible for providing professional and efficient psychological examinations for the purpose of conducing Occupational Suitability Assessment (OSA) of candidates applying for a role in the Australian Defence Force. (ADF).
Due to the responsibility associated with this position, it is expected that you will display a premium level of respect, communication and service in dealing with employees, managers, clients and external stakeholders to promote the reputation of Sonic HealthPlus as the preferred provider of community and corporate medicine within the health logistics industry.
****You will:
- Perform structured psychological assessments to determine the suitability of candidates applying to join the Australian Defence Force (ADF)
- Deliver clear, accurate, and timely psychological reports on candidate aptitude, readiness, and psychological fitness for service.
- Adhere to all Defence and Sonic HealthPlus protocols, including security clearance, clinical guidelines, credentialing, and audit standards
- Work closely with other clinicians, DFR psychology leadership, and support staff to deliver high-quality, candidate-focused services.
- Ensure respectful, empathetic, and efficient interactions with all candidates, aligned with ADF values of service, respect, and integrity.
- Manage sensitive psychological data and records with the highest levels of integrity and privacy compliance.
- Participate in professional development, supervision, and training in line with DFR and Sonic HealthPlus requirements
- Contribute to a safe and positive workplace, following WHS procedures and quality systems to maintain high standards of care and service delivery
About you

Your background will demonstrate:
- Fully registered psychologist with AHPRA (General Registration) and no clinical restrictions
- Minimum 2 years' broad-based clinical experience, including structured psychological assessments
- Skilled in structured interviews, Psychometric testing and interpretation, Independent psychological evaluations and professional report writing
- Demonstrated ability to work within structured protocols and compliance-focused environments
- Experienced in working collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams under directive leadership
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Maintain high standards of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Hold or is eligible to obtain National Police Clearance, Working With Children Check (WWCC), Current CPR certification (HLTAD009)
- Experience in military or paramilitary environments is desirable but not mandatory
