The Role: An NDIS PBS Practitioner (Positive Behaviour Support practitioner) is a professional approved by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission to deliver positive behaviour support under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). They are responsible for assessing influences on a person's behaviour, conducting functional behaviour assessments, and developing positive behaviour support plans to improve quality of life and reduce challenging behaviours for NDIS participants.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degreein Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
Postgraduate qualificationin a similar field is highly regarded.
Must be endorsed by the NDIS as aBehaviour Support Practitioner.
At least 8 yearsof client-facing experience in a similar role.
Police Check,NDIS Worker Screening Check,Blue Card, andOpen Driver's Licencerequired.
Remuneration: Remuneration will reflect qualifications, experience, and NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner level (Core, Proficient, Advanced, or Specialist).
Responsibilities:
Conduct functional assessments and develop individual behaviour support plans.
Implement positive behaviour support strategies and interventions.
Work closely with clients, families, and support teams to foster positive behaviour changes.
Provide remote and in-home visits to support clients in their natural environments.
Prepare detailed reports, including assessments, progress notes, and recommendations.
Ensure compliance with NDIS guidelines and maintain professional standards.
