About you
Drawing onyour real-life experience, coupled with skills learned through education and training, thePeerWellbeing Navigator will support and represent people impacted bymental illness, psychological distress and substance use or addiction.
You will be comfortable to share personal experiences with program consumers within a safe and supported way and will have personal experience of amental illnessor psychological distress andrecovery.
Main responsibilities of the role include:
- Providing intentional peer support
- Providing one on one service navigation and care planning
- Facilitating group peer sessions
- Capacity building
- Supporting engagement with clinical supports
Working alongside other disciplines, you'll play a key role in our collaborative network fostering a safe and inclusive space for healing and growth.
You will also need:
- Willingness to work a rotating roster including evenings and weekends
- Personal Experience of mental distress and accessing and navigating health services, including mental health services
- Certificate IV/Diploma in Mental Health, AOD or tertiary qualification in social science OR 1+ year relevant work experience in a peer worker role
- 100 points of identification
- Evidence of right to work in Australia
- Drivers Licence
- National Police Check
- Working with Children Check - Blue Card
- NDIS Workers Screening Check
- NDIS Workers Orientation Modules - free online course
