About us
Thriving Kids Occupational Therapy (www.thrivingkids.com.au) is a paediatric occupational therapy clinic, servicing clients across the Illawarra. Our purpose is to support children to reach their full potential, and thrive, through a holistic and comprehensive child and family-centred approach. The position is for an Occupational Therapist within our growing practice. The successful applicant will be supported by the owner-director and head clinician, to provide services to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families, at our clinic in Shellharbour NSW, as well as across home, educational and community environments as required.
Flexible work conditions available, including options to work from home for administrative tasks and flexible hours. Part time candidates will also be considered.
Qualifications & experience

Occupational Therapy tertiary qualifications (Degree minimum)
AHPRA registration
Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
Current drivers licence and own vehicle for use in delivering mobile sessions
Confidence in your skills for providing assessment and intervention services to children and adolescents with a variety of developmental and functional needs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organisational skills and time management skills
The ability to work independently as well as within a team
A commitment to neuroaffirming practice
Desired Skills, Knowledge and Attributes: Experience in working with children and adolescents, and their families; a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop professional skills; a passion for working with children, adolescents and their families; some understanding of, or experience in, working within NDIS frameworks.
Tasks & responsibilities
Evaluating clients’ functional capacity and participation in activities/routines within their home, school/child-care centre and leisure environments
Evaluating clients’ physical, emotional and psychological capabilities via clinical observations and standardised testing
Establishing intervention goals in collaboration with children, parents, teachers and others involved in the client’s development and care
Planning intervention to support goal attainment within a neuroaffirming framework
Implementing the intervention plan through direct therapy in clinic and mobile settings (eg. home, school, childcare centres, community based leisure, etc)
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, families, teachers and relevant others
Recording, maintaining and providing accurate, timely documentation of intervention, communication with others and client progress
Maintaining up to date knowledge and skills through engagement in clinical supervision and professional development activities
