Job Description
Full time/Part time (minimum 3 consecutive days per week)
Opportunity to FIFO to remote locations i.e. Thursday Island.

Professional Practice
Apply professional expertise in accordance with ethical, legal, and professional standards.
Maintain a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills in all interactions.
Deliver services to individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and across the lifespan.
Manage a designated caseload within a supervised and supportive team environment.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and community partners.
Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure service excellence.
NDIS Services
Conduct functional capacity assessments (in-home and clinic) and provide ongoing occupational therapy services, including comprehensive report writing, to support participants’ NDIS plans.
Develop, implement, and review therapy plans and activities designed to support consumers’ goal attainment.
Provide education and strategies to consumers to enhance independence in daily living.
Offer advice and guidance to family members, carers, employers, and educators regarding environmental and task adaptations.
Coordinate and implement environmental modifications to enhance home and community access.
Collaborate with the Senior Occupational Therapist and NDIS Team to ensure delivery of high-quality, client-centred services.
Mental Health Services
Deliver individual and group therapy to consumers aged 5–75 years across multiple referral pathways and programs.
Provide therapeutic counselling and healing interventions via in-person, outreach, and telehealth modalities.
Undertake best-practice assessments, care planning, care reviews, report preparation, and delivery of evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, external services, and community members to ensure culturally safe, responsive, and person-centred care.
Essential Criteria:
Current AHPRA registration (or able to obtain)
Must be willing to complete relevant pre-employment screening, including Criminal History, Blue Card, and Queensland Disability Worker Screening/NDIS Worker Screening (or eligibility/pending approvals); and
Hold a current driver’s license.
Experienced/willingness to engage and work with First Nations families and communities.
Ability to undertake regular travel including overnight stays to a regional, rural or remote community on a fortnightly basis.
