About us
Better Life Care Services is an Allied Health Clinic and a Registered NDIS Provider that provides a wide range of services to the Community and NDIS Participants. We are currently seeking to employ agraduate or experienced****Occupational Therapiston aContractor/Permanent full-time/part-time basiswith competitive rates / salary on offer based on experience.
Qualifications & experience
Relevant university degree;
AHPRA Registration;
Good understanding of the rights of people with a disability;
Current driver's licence and own car;
Current Working with Children Check;
NDISWC;
Current Police Check;
The role
You will be providing high-quality Occupational Therapy to NDIS participants (children, adolescents and adults) in their home, day care or school as well as our clinic. You will be conducting functional capacity assessments, designing and implementing evidence-based interventions. You will be working closely with families, caregivers and other Allied Health professionals to achieve the best possible cognitive, emotional and social outcomes for participants.
Tasks & responsibilities
Promoting the physical and emotional well-being of people with disabilities;
Undertaking developmental and functional capacity assessments,
Using evidence-based intervention to address issues with people with disabilities;
Teaching functional life skills including social, communication, self-care, daily living, recreation, and employment;
Providing case management, specialist support coordination to people with disabilities;
Assisting people with a disability to set and attain individual goals;
Working and liaising with families, service providers, allied health professionals, and community members to enhance the choice, social inclusion and quality of life for people with disability;
Helping families, caregivers and individuals with disability understand the impact of disability on a person’s daily functioning;
Planning activities to develop creativity and an interest in learning, physical skills, social skills and self-confidence using a variety of equipment and materials;
Collecting data about clients and assessing their cognitive, behavioural and functional Disorders;
Consulting with other professionals on details of cases and treatment plans;
Promoting health and safety concepts;
Providing assessments for assistive technology equipment, such as wheel chairs and splints, to assist clients to overcome their functional limitations;
Providing home modifications assessments to help clients live within a safe home environment;
Providing functional assessments and assessing clients limitations with recommendations on how to manage these limitations;
Maintaining records of Client progress session by session;
Using standardized assessment tools and producing reports on Client’s progress and give recommendation on the ongoing needs as per NDIS requirements.
