Your Role as an Occupational Therapist in AQ School
As an OT in our education team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting student engagement, participation, and success across a variety of learning contexts. Working closely with educators and school leaders, you’ll provide targeted support to small groups of 6–8 students, helping them access the curriculum and develop essential life skills.
Your day may include:
Facilitating sensory and motor skill development through classroom and playground-based activities
Recommending adaptive tools, seating, and environmental modifications to enhance learning
Leading play-based early childhood interventions that support developmental milestones
Collaborating with students to set personalised learning and wellbeing goals
Providing practical strategies and insights to families, teachers, and allied health professionals
You’ll also contribute to assessment and documentation, including observations, progress reports, and team meetings. This role is ideal for an experienced OT with a strong understanding of educational settings and a collaborative, empathetic communication style.
