Join ADACAS as a NACAP Quality Officer and play a vital role in strengthening the quality and consistency of aged care advocacy across Australia.
This role supports continuous improvement through the implementation of the National Aged Care Advocacy Framework, National Minimum Data Set, and resources housed in the Advocacy Academy and Aged Care Act Hub. While not providing direct advocacy services, you’ll contribute to real impact by shaping practice excellence, data quality, and operational consistency across the network.

About the Role
The Older Persons Team NACAP Quality Officer position is focused on overall program management and delivery on contractual requirements of our services as a member of the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN).
Working closely with Aged Care Advocates, Financial Advocacy Officers, Community Network Officers, Salesforce Administrators, and Advocacy Managers, you’ll help ensure national alignment with NACAP requirements.
This position is responsible for monitoring and reporting on program KPIs, analysis of data and service delivery trends to inform program planning and attending key stakeholder meetings to report on emerging systemic issues. This position is also responsible for supporting consistent application of the**National Aged Care Advocacy Program (NACAP)**Minimum Data Set (MDS), reporting and advocacy practices, including supporting the transition to the new Aged Care Act.
Key responsibilities include:
Support advocates to understand all OPAN guiding resources and build their capacity to provide effective, and accurate reporting of, information, advocacy, education and events in line with NACAP nationally consistent objectives.
Oversee the quality assurance process for data entry (including case notes and presenting issues selection), reporting and the application of all MDS counting rules to ensure national consistent application is reflected at the local level.
Support the Team Lead and Executive to make organisational service delivery and case level decisions in line with OPAN guidance including data application decisions.
Act as the key liaison to OPAN on behalf of their organisation for reporting, MDS and advocacy practice questions.
Participate in NACAP resource and data design projects where consulted, and provide feedback to OPAN on implementation issues, staff experiences or common questions to improve NACAP advocacy and data resources and training.
Contribute, through knowledge sharing, to key network meetings and communities of practice including Advocacy Operations and Practice group, Salesforce Community of Practice and the NACAP Quality Officer meetings
Deliver engaging local member training and support the OPAN delivery of training where required for new areas of implementation to grow the confidence of all member NACAP staff.
About you
You will be able to demonstrate the following:
Well-developed ability to interpret guidelines in the areas of data and best practice service delivery and communicate with others to impart learning in a clear and simple manner
Highly developed written and oral communication skills
Highly developed interpersonal skills
High-level organisation skills including well-developed priority-setting skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work positively and communicate effectively within a team
Maintain and initiate regular and professional communication with our members staff, management and OPAN.
Where required, actively lead and/or participate in team meetings.
Develop and maintain cooperative and harmonious relationships and work in collaboration with others to prevent and/or resolve difficulties.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Experience and knowledge
Experience supporting aged care consumers in NACAP service delivery, or supporting others to do so
Experience in data management and implementing of quality assurance process to ensure the accurate capture and reporting of data.
A sound knowledge of aged care advocacy and NACAP requirements
Understands the OPAN NACAP Minimum Data Set (Desirable)
Qualifications
A minimum of two years’ experience working in the not-for-profit, health, aged care, or human services sectors,preferably in NACAP.
The successful applicant will hold, or be able to obtain, a, current National Criminal Record Check and have a current driver’s licence. All ADACAS employees are encouraged to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to receive an annual influenza immunisation.
