Cornerstone Youth Services Inc. (CSYS) is the lead agency for headspace Devonport. CSYS have been providing services to young people aged 12-25 in the community for over ten years. Website: www.cornerstoneyouthservices.com.au
headspace Devonport incorporates a range of innovative specialist youth services offered to young people aged 12-25 in the North West of Tasmania.
We are seeking a Mental Health Clinician to be based primarily at our headspace Devonport site, with some days also worked from our Burnie site. This is a part time role (0.7FTE) and will be broad-based, integrating individual counselling, case management, group work, and Intake and Access work. This position is offered on a fixed term basis and is contracted until the 30th June 2027.
Under the direction of the Clinical Lead and headspace Devonport Centre Manager you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team
Undertaking brief and comprehensive bio-psychological assessments to determine appropriate service pathways for young people experiencing mild to moderate mental ill health
Provide evidence based psychological interventions, that are culturally appropriate for both groups and individuals.
Deliver psychosocial education and groupwork to young people, families/caregivers and community groups.

What you’ll need
Approved tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy.
Social Worker with current membership OR eligibility for registration with AASW, Psychologist (full or provisional), Occupational Therapist or Mental Health Nurse with AHPRA registration.
Competence or potential to demonstrate provision of a full range of mental health services including mental state examinations and psychological assessments.
Highly developed skills in managing risk and providing individual, family and group interventions for young people presenting with a broad range of issues.
Ability to engage with young people and their families holistically.
Ability to engage with relevant stakeholders to advocate and support access for young people.
Desirable
Previous experience working in the youth mental health sector and/or primary healthcare environment.
