Human Resources Officer

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Human Resource Officer to support our team throughout QLD. This role plays a critical part in maintaining HR operations and ensuring compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award, particularly in the context of out-of-home residential care environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Providing end-to-end HR support across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations

Providing assistance to the Recruitment & Training Officer and the Recruitment Support Officer

Support managers with staffing needs within a residential care setting

Ensuring HR practices align with the SCHADS Award and Fair Work legislation

Maintaining accurate employee records and HR documentation, including contracts and position descriptions, within our established systems

Provide advice on HR policies, procedures, and best practice in a culturally safe workplace

Assist with industrial relations matters, internal investigations, and conflict resolution

Required experience and skills:

Minimum 2 years of HR experience in the community services or OOHC sector

Strong understanding of the SCHADS Award and applicable legislation (Fair Work Act, WHS, etc.)

Demonstrated knowledge of HR systems, practices, and compliance requirements

Empathetic, culturally competent, and able to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and people

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

Current Working with Children Check (BlueCard), National Police Check, and a valid Driver’s Licence

Experience with the Employment Hero platform is preferred, but not essential.
