About the role
This role is 75.5 hours per fortnight, Monday-Thursday night shifts each week, and 1 Sunday Day shift each fortnight.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced House Companion to join our team at the Korongee Dementia Village, part of Glenview Community Services' dynamic and innovative aged care services. This part-time role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate and person-centred care in a purpose-built, dementia-friendly environment located in Glenorchy, Tasmania.
What you'll be doing
Providing high-quality personal care and daily living assistance to residents, including, personal hygiene, mobility support, and social engagement
Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team to implement individualised care plans that promote residents' independence, wellbeing, and quality of life
Fostering a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment that celebrates residents' uniqueness and supports their cognitive, physical, and emotional needs
Actively participating in team meetings, training, and professional development to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
Maintaining accurate and detailed documentation to ensure the highest standards of care and compliance with regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent qualification
Minimum 2 years of demonstrated experience in providing person-centred care to older adults, particularly those living with dementia
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with residents, families, and the care team
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine commitment to promoting the wellbeing and quality of life for residents
Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work effectively in a dynamic environment
Current right to work in Australia
Ability to obtain and maintain a clear National Police Check and Working with Vulnerable People Check with NDIS endorsement
