Join our team Do you have Auslan skills or strong connections to the Deaf and hard of hearing community? In this role, you’ll support people to find and keep jobs they value, while working with employers to create inclusive workplaces.
About us Sign for Work, part of Deaf Children Australia, has been a Deaf and hard of hearing specialist provider of Disability Employment Services (DES) for over 20 years. From 1 November 2025, we will deliver the new Inclusive Employment Australia (IEA) Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist Contract, building on our strong history of supporting people into long-term employment and economic inclusion.
We’re now seeking a dedicated Employment Coach to join our team. This role is based in our Bankstown hub, with some travel to outreach sites in neighbouring areas.
What you’ll do
Support participants to achieve and maintain employment
Provide job search support including resumes, applications, and interview coaching
Build relationships with employers, community organisations, and referral partners
Assist with workplace readiness, communication needs, and adjustments
Meet targets and maintain accurate case notes
What we’re looking for
Proficiency in Auslan (Australian Sign Language), or currently developing your Auslan skills
Strong connections to the Deaf and hard of hearing community are highly valued
Experience in employment services, recruitment, or coaching is an advantage, but we also welcome applications from people with Auslan skills who are eager to learn in employment services
Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
Knowledge of Deaf culture, Indigenous communities, CALD backgrounds, and inclusive workplace practices is desirable
Confident using Microsoft Office and able to learn new systems quickly

Relevant qualification or equivalent experience
Working With Children Check (Employee)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia
National Police Check (and International if lived overseas in last 10 years)
Two referees
Valid driver’s licence and reliable car
