About the role
We have an exciting and rewarding support opportunity to share with you. Located in Newington, you will be part of a 24/7 care team to support an infant male . You will provide full assistance with all ADL's as well as clinical support of the Ventilator, Tracheostomy & PEG. Due to the nature and complexity of the client's needs, you will need to have relevant disability experience. An extensive onboarding program will be provided with buddy shifts to help you with your transition.
Your key responsibilities
Our team is looking for a dedicated and passionate Disability Support Worker who can undertake the following key responsibilities:
- Personal Cares
- Pressure Area Care and Skin Integrity Support
- Tracheostomy and Ventilation Management
- Suctioning
- Enteral Feeding
- Medication Administration
- Communication and Play
- Manual Handling Including Repositioning & Transfers
- General Household Tasks
- Community Participation
About you
To join the team, we are looking for the following skills and experience:
- Certificate III in Individual Support or above (Relevant care certificates may also be considered)
- Specific Disability / Complex Care Experience (Minimum 2 years experience)
- Manual handling certificate and experience (Essential)
- Medication Administration Certificate
- Paediatric Care Experience (Desired)
- Experience With Clients Using Invasive Ventilation (Desired)
- Tracheostomy management (Desired)
- Medication Administration Certificate (Essential)
- Current First aid and CPR
- Yellow Card/NDIS Worker's Screening Check
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Working With Children Check
