Job Description
Disability Support Worker – Child (Autism & Developmental Delay) **Location:**Menai, NSW **Shift Times:**Monday to Friday, 4pm – 7pm
We’re looking for a compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to support a young boy living with Autism Level 3, Severe Global Developmental Delay, ADHD, and sensory processing challenges. This is a hands-on role where your support will help him build confidence, independence, and connection both at home and in the community.
Essential Requirements

Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
First Aid & CPR certification
Experience supporting children with Autism or developmental delay
What You’ll Be Doing

Assisting with personal care, including toileting, dressing, hygiene, and mealtime support
Supporting communication using simple language, visual aids, and body cues
Encouraging independence by following strategies set by therapists and family
Supervising in the community, ensuring safety while managing sensory needs
Redirecting behaviours calmly and positively to build trust and engagement
Encouraging activities he enjoys, such as running, sensory play, and exploring the outdoors
About You
You’ll be someone who is:
Patient, calm, and understanding of children with complex needs
Confident in managing behaviours and sensory challenges
Able to follow professional guidance while adapting to the child’s needs
Physically capable of providing mobility and personal care support
Reliable, consistent, and flexible in your approach
