Disability Support Worker

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team at A Plus Disability Services Pty Ltd in Doreen, Victoria. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and live independently. This is a casual position, offering flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing Assisting clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping Facilitating community engagement and participation by accompanying clients to social and recreational activities Providing emotional support and encouraging clients to develop and maintain their independence Collaborating with the client, their family, and the broader care team to develop and implement individualised support plans Maintaining accurate records and documentation to ensure the highest standards of care Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and workplace health and safety guidelines

What we're looking for A Certificate III or IV in Disability Services or a related field Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a community-based setting Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting the independence and wellbeing of individuals with disabilities A strong understanding of person-centred approaches and the ability to tailor support to individual needs A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and public holidays, as required
