About Drummond Street Services
Drummond Street Services (DS) is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organisation with over 130 years’ experience delivering innovative, evidence-informed services that strengthen families and communities. We work across the spectrum of prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery, providing both universal and targeted support.
We have a long-standing commitment to supporting survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. We played a key role in supporting survivors to share their stories with the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse, and we continue this work today through the National Redress Scheme and our Redress Counselling and Psychological Care Service.
We also proudly supported people with disabilities to share their experiences with the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability. This work continues as we advocate for systemic change and better protections.
Our Complex Trauma Service delivers state-wide, trauma-informed counselling, casework, and advocacy. Our approach is accessible, client-led, and holistic, meeting the needs of survivors, their families, carers, support workers, and advocates. We offer flexible, respectful, and empowering support that addresses individual needs while contributing to broader systems advocacy.
Drummond Street is deeply committed to equity in employment. We actively encourage and prioritise applicants from communities that face structural barriers to employment, including First Nations people, people of colour, public housing residents, people with disability, and people from LGBTIQA+ communities.
Our Redress Support Service (RSS), part of the Complex Trauma Service, provides free and independent support to survivors of institutional child sexual abuse. We assist individuals to safely navigate the National Redress Scheme (NRS), the Victorian Redress Scheme for Historical Institutional Abuse (VRS), and provide counselling as part of successful outcomes.
