THE ROLE

Community and Residential Aged Care Physiotherapy

The successful candidate will have a mixed role in the community and an Aged Care Home. A typical day to day role of a mixed role therapist will involve:

Assessing neurological/musculoskeletal function and creating and implementing a systematic treatment plan to address needs and impairments.

Communicate identified needs with the client, families, providers and appropriate referral to the relevant Health Professional / Specialist.

Prescription of appropriate mobility / adaptive aids as well as home modifications depending on your scope of practice.

Working collaboratively within an Allied health team.

Continuously review current treatment plans and adjust accordingly.

Re-assessments of consumers within the nursing home.

Manual handling training for staff within the nursing home.

Implementing rehabilitation programs within the nursing home.

REQUIREMENTS

A commitment to learning, growth, and teamwork.

A passion for providing quality care in the aged care and community sectors

Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Physiotherapy

Current AHPRA registration

Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance

Valid Police Check and Working with Children’s Check

Current driver’s license and access to a registered and insured vehicle

Experience in Aged Care desirable but not essential
