Community and Family Worker (Safe and Strong)
Office Location: Quirindi
Salary Packaging available – increase your take home pay

The Community Worker at Winanga-Li Aboriginal Child and Family Centre is responsible for delivering and coordinating culturally appropriate support services focused on programs that align with the objectives of theSafe and Strong Program, funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ). TheSafe and Strong Programis a community-based initiative designed to support Aboriginal People who are victim/survivors of Domestic/Family Violence, or who are experiencing or at risk of domestic and family violence. The program aims to strengthen safety, wellbeing, and access to culturally appropriate services, while empowering families to make informed decisions about their lives.
This is an Aboriginal Identified position.
In this role, you will:
Coordinate and deliver a range of integrated services in Liverpool Plains, including Youth Cultural Programs, Women’s Support Group, Elders Support Group, and Kids Club.
Collaborate with local service providers such to ensure holistic support for families.
Facilitate access to early learning opportunities for Aboriginal children by connecting families with appropriate early childhood education and care services.
Foster strong relationships with the Liverpool Plains community, Aboriginal networks, and local service providers to ensure holistic and culturally appropriate service delivery.
Promote cultural inclusivity and provide information to families about parenting, children’s health, and available services.
Support interagency meetings and advocate for continued participation in local networks.
Provide innovative and flexible services within the community and outreach settings to engage Aboriginal children and families who do not usually access services.
Support Aboriginal families in building connections with appropriate services, community networks, and social supports.
Coordinate referrals to relevant early learning opportunities and healthcare professionals to facilitate connections between families and necessary support services.
This position is subject to applicants having a current Working with Children Check, National Criminal Record Check clearances and a current unrestricted NSW Driver's license
