- Permanent part-time (0.4 FTE).
- Shifts: Tuesday and Thursday (08:30 - 16:30 or 10:00 - 18:00).
- SCHADS Award Level 4, plus super. NFP salary packaging available.
- This is an on-site position. No WFH.

About the role
The Housing and Recovery Practitioner plays a vital role in supporting women and children as they transition from crisis to stability within a short-term, community-based housing program. Working with individuals who present with low support needs, the practitioner delivers strengths-based, client-led case management focused on empowering clients to regain independence and build safe, stable futures beyond refuge accommodation.
Key responsibilities:
Facilitate smooth transitions into and out of short-term housing.
Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessment, and develop tailored case plans that address safety, wellbeing, independence, and long-term housing goals.
Coordinate appropriate support pathways through internal and external services.
Provide practical assistance with life skills, tenancy readiness, community connection and more.
Work closely with DVConnect's internal property and maintenance teams, finance team and external property managers to respond to tenancy matters and ensure timely maintenance.
Selection Criteria
(It is a genuine requirement for this role to be filled by a woman, as permitted under sections 25, 104, and 105 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991)
Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Counselling or Human Services.
Minimum 2 years' work experience in the social and community services sector, with at least 12-months experience in case management. Experience working with women and/or children impacted by domestic and family violence strongly desired.
Significant demonstrated ability to manage competing tasks within agreed timeframes, including planning, implementation, and coordination of practical support or case management.
Knowledge and understanding of intersectional feminist practice and other relevant practice frameworks used to respond to the gendered nature of violence against women and children.
Experience providing supportive and culturally safe spaces for diverse groups, including First Nations peoples, individuals from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people with a diagnosed disability, and members of the LGBTQI+ community.
Sound knowledge (or willingness to acquire) about Queensland Domestic Violence Legislation, particularly the Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and enhance relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including both sector and non-sector partners.
Competent IT literacy and telephone communication skills with a proven ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively.
Availability/flexibility to complete initial training prior to commencing official roster.
Full working rights in Australia.
Own a reliable, insured vehicle. You may be assigned to attend designated work sites located between Brisbane CBD and Gold Coast, QLD, as operational needs arise.
Valid Australian Drivers Licence and (P) BlueCard.
