**About this opportunity **This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role supporting young people experiencing mental illness. As the Team Leader for the Youth Community Living Support Services (YCLSS) program, you will lead a passionate and skilled team delivering high-quality, person-centred, and recovery-oriented psychosocial support.
You'll work closely with Local Health Districts and community stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery, promote integration, and strengthen partnerships. In addition to supervising staff and overseeing program delivery, you'll carry a small caseload, providing intensive, strengths-based support to help young people build independence, resilience, and life skills.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, people-focused environment, has a passion for youth mental health, and is confident in both leadership and direct service delivery.
About You
You are a motivated and compassionate leader with strong experience in community mental health, youth services, or psychosocial support. You bring both strategic thinking and hands-on experience, with a strong understanding of recovery frameworks and trauma-informed practice.
You are confident in supporting a team, managing stakeholder relationships, and ensuring compliance with service delivery standards. You lead with empathy, professionalism, and a collaborative spirit.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary level qualifications in Mental Health or Community Services, the Social Sciences or related discipline
- Ability to participate in out of hours activities as required to undertake the role
- At least 1 year program management experience
- Excellent communication, organisation,and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer literacy and familiarity with case management systems
- Rights to work in Australia and a current and valid Driver's License
- Satisfactory Police Records Check [less than 12 months old] and Working with Children Check, before commencement - or willing to obtain.
- NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) Worker Orientation Module Certificate is mandatory prior to commencement: https://www.ndiscommission.gov.au/workers/support-for-workers/training-course
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDISWSC) is mandatory prior to commencement.
